Location: Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association, Weatherford, Oklahoma. April 28, 2024. Taken during an Oklahoma Camera Club photo outing.

A barrel racer standing in the stirrups as she accelerates coming out of a turn. The weather was overcast, so the light was every even. I was standing on the ground just outside of the arena fence, looking straight toward the rider so her face was visible even though she is wearing a western hat, and there are no severe shadows under the hat brim.

Camera & lens: Canon R5 with a Canon L RF100-500 mm f4.5 - f 7.1 lens at 472 mm.

Exposure: Manual exposure: 1/1250 sec, f/7.1, ISO 500 [auto].

Camera/lens: monopod.

Postprocessing: Photoshop for cropping, and minor brightness and contrast adjustment. Topaz Sharpen AI for sharpening.
