Taking Down the Sails by John Larson, FPSA, GMPSA

July 2025 - Taking Down the Sails

About the Image(s)

My wife Carolyn and I just took a ten day vacation trip to Newport, RI and York, ME. During our time in Newport, we took a sailing trip in Narragansett Harbor. This shot is from the same sailing trip as shown last month except the shot was taken as our trip was ending and the young lady was starting to take down the sails. It certainly looked like it was a lot of strenuous work..

Love your image. I think if you could lighten the lady under the sail watching it would be better.   Posted: 07/10/2025 12:06:14

Oh yes, now in this image I can see face of the lady working on deck. To me the lady in shade is ok as in that case she would also draw attention of the viewer. Good that we see interesting background.   Posted: 07/10/2025 21:20:55
