July 2025 - Harrison Bader Home Run
About the Image(s)
This 4th of July I was fortunate to have tickets to a Minnesota Twins professional baseball game. They played Tampa Bay Rays. The score was 3 to 3 going into the bottom of the 9th inning. Harrison Bader, shown here leaping, scored a home run to win the game, and was greeted by teammates at the plate.
He got the first score of the game, also a home run.
All I had with me was a cell phone, and the photo was taken from my seat in the stadium.

What a neat image. Surely tells a story of a win! You captured at just the right movement too. I also love using my iPhone 16 Pro Max to get spontaneous moments. Great job!!!   Posted: 07/10/2025 12:08:27
The situation captured does tell a happy moment, composition is fine to me but not the technical quality, perhaps it being a phone grab. Also, the blurred thumbs up on sides distract me. Neither I am discouraging you nor am against cell phone photography, but sharing with you my frank opinion.   Posted: 07/10/2025 21:25:54
You have definitely captured an exciting moment in a baseball game. I pretty much never go to a baseball game without a "real" camera. I think you should crop the hand out from each side of the picture. Also I am not positive but I think you might have been able to manually focus and get much of the netting to not show up in the image. Also something you could not control but they are throwing the Gatorade or other liquid on what look to be the wrong player and that person's facial expression is what we want to see. Good try.   Posted: 07/14/2025 14:58:16
