October 2025 - Crossing the Safety Boundary

About the Image(s)

The picture was taken before COVID when our family visited Machu Picchu in Peru towards the end of February. We visited the "lost city" in the morning when the location was covered by fog. The sky was clearing by 11am and we were left with a beautiful scenic view showing the architecture of the "lost city"with the periphery covered by misty fog.I spotted a tourist crossing the safety boundaries set up by the local authority. She was trying to take a picture of the scenic view. The setting was in favour of a PJ picture.

Equipment Nikon D5 camera zoom lens 20-70 mm at 28mm f/11 1/500
ISO 200
Post processing -Capture One--mostly cropping

I like this different view of Machu Picchu...not the standard for sure. The fog really makes the photo. It's hard to tell the lady is crossing any boundary, but it doesn't matter for your photo. The site is spectacular and your overview shows it. That's what missing from the standard shots of the ruins.   Posted: 10/20/2025 17:46:24
