I really like the portrayal of the photographer and her helpful friend. Their clothing is colorful, and they are in sharp focus. For me, there is a disconnect between the two women and the background. You don't mention any post processing, but to me, the background not only is very blurry (understandable at f/5) but the colors looks so desaturated that it almost feels like the people are floating. The tones of the umbrella also feels a little disparate.   Posted: 12/12/2025 10:08:52

To me its a good human interest image, but I would have cropped it from top to eliminate the colorful wall behind the umbrella which could also be cropped from top so that the main subject, the women, stand out prominently. I also tried to brighten it up.
I have posted here my version of your image.   Posted: 12/12/2025 18:46:29

The picture is the best image you have submitted to the notebook, in my opinion. It ought to win acceptances. The muted colors flatter the background. The piece of stucco above them gives some context to what they are photographing. Nice.
Well done.   Posted: 12/17/2025 21:13:53

Thanks Karen, you never know what will appeal to someone else. It's always a guessing game.   Posted: 12/18/2025 11:08:51

A nice portrait. I would like to see what she is taking a picture of.   Posted: 12/20/2025 13:36:57
