About the Image(s)

This picture of a musician playing the accordion was taken during Mardi Gras. I always love the coloring and the concentration on his face.

I think this is a nice portrayal of your subject, the musician obviously totally involved with his music, eyes closed, fingers on the keys. The lighting on his face and hands and the darkness of the surrounding areas, with some low-toned detail visible in the drum set, keep the focus on the man. The image is quite sharp at 1/60 shutter speed. I think you could add to the impact by cropping a little more closely and toning down the bright highlights. I also brightened his face just slightly.   Posted: 12/12/2025 10:24:03

Hate to keep agreeing with everything Ardeth has already said, but there it is. Agree with her cropping also.
Amazing focus for 1/60 shutter speed. Like how intense his interaction with the accordion.   Posted: 12/12/2025 11:31:23

Nice. Very good focus and exposure on the accordionist. It does need cropping from the left especially. Maybe most of the solid black on the left, and part of the drums on the right, to center interest on the subject.   Posted: 12/17/2025 21:24:11

A very nice image of your accordionist. I think the suggestions from Ardeth helped the image. I also would like it not cropped quite so tightly, but that may have been necessary due to the surroundings.   Posted: 12/20/2025 13:39:26
