January 2026 - Orrefors Glassblower
About the Image(s)
On a trip to Sweden a few years ago, we visited the Kosta glassworks, where designers, glassblowers, grinders, painters, glass cutters and inspectors take part daily in the craftsmanship of beautiful wares at the glassworks. .This was photographed with my Nikon D7100, Nikon 18-300 lens at 80 mm, exposure 1/200, f/5.3, ISO 400.

To me its a nice pj shot telling its own story. You have made a timely click. In case of the worker, I wanted to see a little more clarity.   Posted: 01/10/2026 21:15:16
The white hot furnace and the glass blob are the stars. The glassblower gets lost in the dark with odd green bits around his head. However, he does have a nice glow on his face. Focus could have been a bit better.   Posted: 01/11/2026 10:28:56
Good story and image. I think if you tried the Highlights/Shadows tool you could bring out the details in some of the shadowy areas and give this image even more impact.   Posted: 01/17/2026 09:35:10
Since you are zooming, it might improve the composition to include all of the blower's arm. The exposure is good, and the sharpness. The story seems about like the other photos posted.   Posted: 01/18/2026 00:49:47
I am still very much distracted by the tincted colors of the middle part of the picture. does the highlights/shadows tool help?   Posted: 01/18/2026 17:23:49
I could address the color tints in the photo, but to me, they are part of the photo. They were a major part of the scene, and I feel to minimize them results in a more boring image. Guess that's something that is just subjective, but in a realism category, I usually don't change things that might be distracting to other viewers. This was a very vivid scene, with color reflections from the fire and from the lighting.   Posted: 01/19/2026 06:02:25
