Goddess Durga by Subhash Sapru, APSA, PPSA

April 2026 - Goddess Durga

About the Image(s)

The image was made at annual day show of the school of my grandson in Noida, India in March ’26. Every year the Hindus worship Goddess Durga especially during nine days known as ‘Navratri’. This sacred period of nine days is observed every year in different states of the country by those who worship the Goddess in their own way. The day of annual day function marked the beginning of Navratri, therefore school management celebrated it by holding a cultural programme based on the culture of different states highlighting their way of worshipping the Goddess. As the performance concluded, I captured this moment of students dressed in their colourful attire carrying a big picture of Goddess Durga.

As the school had engaged a professional photographer to make stills and videos, they did not like others making photos. Therefore I had to find a spot on a side to be with the staff so as to make some photos.

Technical specifications: Camera-Nikon Z 6 III, Lens- Nikon Z 24-70 mm f/2.8 II S, Aperture f/2.8, Shutter speed 1/200, EV +0.3, Focal length 200 mm.

I am sorry for I forgot to mention about post processing in description.
I have only cropped a bit from bottom and left side to eliminate some of the distractions.   Posted: 04/17/2026 06:17:06
