You did try well, but splash of water has impacted the action like a filter. Some believe that in PJ there should be nothing between the subject and the camera, but exceptions are always there. Here splash is a part of the story thus unavoidable but here in given situation it seems long focal length and f/4 have resulted in making some areas look blurred .   Posted: 06/13/2026 10:12:53
The action of barefoot skiing is well shown in this image. I agree with Subhash's comment that the splash of water does cause mild blurring of the image. The pair of hands, with the prominent knuckles, do compensate to demonstrate the energy required for the action.
My impression that this is an excelent image suitable for the PJ group.   Posted: 06/13/2026 17:57:12

I really like this waterski image, as it's just a bit different from the usual ski/ water spray. There is a sense that something is going to go wrong (the ahhh moment). I do agree that this is a touch soft (so perhaps a higher ISO, faster shutter and smaller aperture - I usually start around SS 1600 to 2000, and an f-stop of around 6.3-7.1, then adjust the ISO to match). However, I can see the hands are sharp, and I am drawn to them first. I think this image should score well in a general or themed-sport PJ competition.   Posted: 06/15/2026 14:40:35
