September 2026 - Kestrel Banding

I had the opportunity to join a small group to observe banding of three little American kestrel chicks. This was an overcast day, with dull gray sky, midmorning. I thought doing a group of four images tells the story of what is happening better than a single shot. I'm having issues with a new computer and it affected my screen, so the technical aspects might not be spot on.
Camera: Nikon Z8; lens Nikon 24-200 @ 95mm
My exposure values varied among these four photos because I was changing from f/7.1 to 9, shutter around 1/250, ISO 400 to 800, in changing light depending where I was standing.

Hello Ardeth, just 2 more images and you have a PJ short story entry. What a wonderful collection of images. the iamge on the far right is good enough as a stand alone entry into either PJ-General or PJ-HI.
