I like the composition, although I think the lighting is a bit too bright. I might lessen the exposure a bit or play with reducing the highlights to bring out more contrast. Is this a photojournalism photo or is it more of a photo travel photo? I would definitely enter it in a photo travel section of an exhibition.   Posted: 12/21/2025 19:55:36

Hi Vivek, I remember Dal Lake from a visit there 20 years ago when there were fewer boats. We stayed in a houseboat and I managed to drop my Nikon into the water. Fortunately, only the lens leaked and had to be replaced. I agree with Carolyn that the image is too bright overall so colors aren't as saturated as they could be. A lower overall exposure along with some clarity (50%) and saturation (25%) might help. I made these changes via Camera Raw in the attached image. Karl   Posted: 12/22/2025 11:44:46

Very bright and slightly over exposed. Perhaps a different time of day to bring out the mountains in the back a bit more. Great composition. Beautiful place.

Beautiful travel image of Kashmir Dal lake with mountains and shikara so beautifully lined. Like the composition very much. Agree with Carolyn and Carl, try decreasing the brightness which will bring more contrast. And this is obviously a travel image, not journalism.   Posted: 12/23/2025 10:57:37
