Leslie - This is a great image and it seems like you released the shutter at exactly the right moment. The woman eyeing the produce seems to be in motion. If you had released the shutter earlier, much of her body would have been occluded by the truck and if you had released the shutter later, she would have been separated from the truck and perhaps no longer eyeing the produce. Great capture of a great moment! If I could change anything, I might have wanted to see a little more at the top of the image, so the head of the person in the truck wasn't right at the top, and a little more at the right of the image, so the bag wasn't cut off. As I'm writing this, I'm noticing that the woman eyeing the produce is holding the same type of bags that are tied to the back of the truck. Makes me wonder if the woman is part of the crew for the truck, or if everyone uses the same type of bag.   Posted: 07/03/2025 04:42:23

Right you are Richard Goldenberg. A timely click and the presence of woman has enhanced overall impact of the image. Here in my native city in north India these days we have many similar hawkers selling fruits and vegetables in such small trucks.   Posted: 07/05/2025 01:53:29

Hi Leslie. Good capture of the vegetable truck and the woman. I guess you have cropped a part of the image. I think a little more space was required. I agree with Richard that the woman is also part of the crew for the truck with same type of bag in hand.   Posted: 07/06/2025 09:39:23

Those bags are ubiquitous, everyone uses them. I don't know if she is part of the team or not, I thought not, but don't remember where she went next.
Also, I should have left more room on top. Cropped it too close.   Posted: 07/06/2025 14:25:19

Hi Leslie. This photo as others have said is a fine capture of a typical street scene. If you had snapped the photo with more of the people displayed then fine but if the photo was taken fast and shot from the hip then you would not have the time to adjust focal length, its timed perfectly as Richard says. I have said once before and will repeat, this style of Street Photography is best taken with as much as you can fit onto the sensor then crop back. If you have a 28mm lens use this length. You have used 65mm, if a prime lens then it may have not been suitable, for closer up work a 18-500mm covers about everything on an APSC sensor camera.
As the photo stands you have captured the essence of the action, that is the most important.   Posted: 07/06/2025 18:42:11

HI Leslie, and terrific street image and one taken at just the right moment with the woman walking past eyeing off the vegetables. She seems to have items in her colored shopping bag, so I interpreted this as a potential customer rather than this being her stall. I do agree with everyone about having just a bit more space at the top - the old rule - shoot wider and crop later!
It is also important to remember that a street scene might be common for someone from this country, while for a traveller this might be interesting and eye opening.   Posted: 07/07/2025 00:42:00

Nice image and great timing with the woman walking by. I like her walking action and also eyeing the produce on the back of the truck. The colors are bright and the produce is clearly displayed. A little more headroom as the others have mentioned on the top would be nice.   Posted: 07/14/2025 11:29:02
