Arunima - Wow, what a great image! Great colors and a great story! I am curious about why you selected the slow shutter speed and low ISO. Did you want the moving people to be blurred? Seems like a higher ISO and faster shutter speed would have produced a similar image, but without the blur. Did you want the blur?   Posted: 07/04/2025 06:45:34

exactly so. I wanted a blurred view of the moving people and their continuous motion.   Posted: 07/04/2025 10:34:51

Arunima, I like your idea to blur moving people, but had I made such an image, I would have cropped the lane which goes deep to the left in background as that would have enhanced overall impact. Its just my opinion.   Posted: 07/05/2025 01:59:24

Hi Arunima. This is an interesting choice of subject matter to show in HI. To date we have not had many photos that show a panoramic view of a market, especially with many strong colour bursts. I don't know all the rules for HI but with the sweeping nature of the photo no central point exists, is this an issue for HI? With most HI photos the human face is often strongly presented, this of course could have been overcome by going street level or using a telephoto lens to spot out people as representatives of the whole scene. Some comments from the experts may shed light on this issue.   Posted: 07/06/2025 20:12:04

For PJD -HI , expressions are necessary, to visualize the mood, the characters. So a close up is required. So Should I be concentrating on a particular seller or buyer or may be more but one should be the center of attraction. I mean, even in this image, it is obvious that they are all sellers and buyers and it is a marketplace. But it is distracting, rt?   Posted: 07/08/2025 02:28:04

Hi Arunima
A bright, colorful market scene and one that has impact because of the vastness and number of stalls. However, as HI image I feel it does not tell a strong story about the individuals in the market, but rather a story ABOUT the market. As Ron has suggested there is no main focus, so the viewer is left roaming around the image. I like the fact you are playing with slower shutter speeds, as this can add motion and dynamism to an image. I do like the laneway included, more from a perspective of interest rather than photographic skill, but I do see Subhash's point and it might have the potential to draw the eye away from the market.   Posted: 07/07/2025 00:55:09

For a foreigner it's impossible to tell what is going on there. Why are they there and what are they doing? Without your explanation I wouldn't know. As I mentioned to someone else, crowd scenes aren't my favorite, but I do love color and India seems to excel at that.   Posted: 07/08/2025 01:46:40

Got your point. If I have to explain the situation, the place, that means it is not clear from the view of the frame. So I need to be more close. I liked the overall pattern of colors and random motion.   Posted: 07/08/2025 02:21:04

I love the pops of colour and the motion blur. It's a busy scene but finds its unity in the thread of colour moving throughout leading the eye around the periphery and into the center.   Posted: 07/10/2025 08:20:19

I like the overall market place shot and street giving perspective to the image. The colors are vivid and bright but I have no idea what the colors are. You mentioned they were flowers and maybe it would have created a stronger HI story showing a vendor selling the flowers. How are they sold? Individually or in strings? There are many yellow and gold groups and one red group. Are yellow and gold more desirable or is it the less available red? A closer image would have answered some of these questions in my mind.   Posted: 07/14/2025 12:35:05
