About the Image(s)

I took this photo on September 14, 2025, at the official weigh-in shack for a Martha's Vineyard fishing derby. The photo shows a young brother and sister bringing out their fish to be weighed and entered in the derby. The boy is looking up at his father as he reaches into the cooler to grab another fish. The shack was cramped and crowded and obtaining a clear sightline to contestants was challenging.

I took the photo with my Canon R7 and an 18-150 mm lens set to 50 mm. The settings were 1/80 s, f/7.1 and ISO of 2500.
