December 2025 - Sunset Tulip Field
About the Image(s)
I had the opportunity to visit the Wooden Shoe Festival in Woodburn, Oregon, in April. The acres and acres of tulips were spectacular. I had a pass to stay after hours to photograph in the golden hour, and it really was golden. Although we can't see the little girl's face, I think her body language makes a very sweet picture. She and her mom were dressed alike to have their photos taken by another photographer, and my shot was taken during a break and was not a posed scene.
Exposure: Aperture f/11, 1/320, ISO 640

Lovely candid photo, Ardeth. both mother-daughter covered from back side, I didn't find any issue in that. Their body language speaks the story. Both of them wearing dressed alike & that too of Tulip's design is unique & an interesting too. Mood of the image is great due to a golden hour light. Overall nice image.   Posted: 12/11/2025 23:49:23
Ardeth, I would add that the way the image is illuminated adds some degree of mystery and makes us wonder what their faces look like and the expressions. The diverse varieties of tulips also adds interest to the image.   Posted: 12/13/2025 10:06:40

What a great, colorful, mysterious photo. I might crop a bit of the yellow sky out, but the rest is delightful. Love that the people have matching flower dresses.   Posted: 12/22/2025 22:23:21
What stands out most in this photograph is the way light and time work together. The golden hour is not just a visual effect here, it shapes the entire mood of the image. The figures appear calm and natural, without forcing emotion, allowing the feeling to emerge quietly through posture and distance. The contrast between the small child and the adult figure adds a subtle sense of movement and balance to the scene. I also appreciate that the image remains open and does not dictate a specific story, giving the viewer space for personal interpretation. A refined and sensitive moment, beautifully observed.   Posted: 12/23/2025 10:08:56
