September 2022 - St Sulpice church Paris

About the Image(s)

Shot with an iPhone 11 Pro Max at ISO 20, 1.54mm, f/2.4, 1/1500 sec. St Sulpice is a beautiful church with an incredible fountain we found on our walk back to the Seine from Luxembourg Gardens July 15 this summer at 3:47 pm. We had a day in Paris at the end of our France trip because our flight was cancelled and we had to stay one more day.

Your inclusion of the foreground monument gives very good balance to the composition - that monument and the Church facade provide lots of impact to your very colourful presentation. A great bonus for your delayed departure from Paris, as they say with regard to air travel "every cloud has a silver lining"!   Posted: 09/06/2022 08:46:22

While the fountain monument is very large, the wide angle lens has perhaps made it look larger in comparison to the church than it really is. I didn't think about that until I was looking at it here. If I had a person standing next to the fountain it would give a clue to the relative scale of these two parts of the image. You can see how small the people are back by the church. It is really a very large church.   Posted: 09/15/2022 08:46:05

Stan, it was good that your flight was canceled, otherwise you would not have this image. Interesting vantage point giving us the opportunity to see all the architectural details of both structures. Here the pure blue sky contrasts very nicely with the church and fountain making them stand out. Image is sharp.   Posted: 09/15/2022 05:39:18

A very well presented image indeed!
The presence of the people is adding to the image as they are showing the scale of this beautiful massive church.

I agree with everyone's comments. Also it seems to me that the wide angle lens may have distorted the the towers on the church slightly or maybe that's the way the towers actually are.   Posted: 09/22/2022 11:24:21
