Ajanta Caves by Malabika Roy, PPSA, BPSA

February 2023 - Ajanta Caves

About the Image(s)

Last week had a memorable trip to Aurangabad to see Ajanta caves, Ellora caves and Lonar crater.
This is a part of a view of Ajanta caves from outside.
Shot with Z7, used a wide angle lens (14 to 24), shot at focal length 14mm, F/8, ISO - 320, and shutter speed 1/200sec. Inside photography was a challenge (though will post the photos in due course) as tripod and flash are not allowed.
There is no crop in the image, hardly any adjustments are done. I have only straightened the left part of the image as everything was slanting due to the wide angle lens that I had used.

A very nice image. I like the path leading us into the image on the left. The people are good for scale and don't dominate the image. No people would look kind of dead.   Posted: 02/19/2023 17:52:16

Actually, I would like to see more of the caves. This is a great establishing shot for the beginning of the movie or book… but I can't really see the caves thru the brush in the middle.   Posted: 02/24/2023 15:19:36

Thanks Lisa,
I tried to include as many caves as possible from this vantage point, hence the caves on the right hand side of the image looks much smaller.
I will definitely post images taken from inside the caves in my future posts.   Posted: 02/25/2023 06:03:40
