Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is located in Bristol Maine on the coast south of Acadia NP. I have visited there twice. I was intrigued by the rock formation in front of the lighthouse. The first time I took a "standard typical" sunny day photo. The second time we were at the location there was water in puddles among the rocks. While surveying the rocks I noticed I could see a reflection. I positioned my camera and tripod very low. I processed this with minor adjustments in LR and used Nik Color Efex Pro to bring out the texture in the rocks and the clouds.

This is such a lovely image Donna. The composition, the sharpness, the clarity and the colour everything is very apt.

Donna, your vantage point made this image. The lighthouse with its almost complete reflection in the little pond is the central point, and the rocky formation framing the pond/lighthouse reflection really complements the image. It is sharp, and the colors very vivid. The other red house on the side is kind of distracting and takes away some of the prevalenve of the lighthouse. I did a square crop. I love the leading lines, the red lighthouse, and the reflection in the pool. Upon reflection (so to speak), I think Isaac is correct that the small red building on the left is distracting. Try it as a vertical? I also saw this image upside down, with the pool on top, and it was quite interesting... Posted: 05/16/2021 16:44:37
