About the Image(s)

This is a photo from December 2019, when I was at the Bears Stadium in Chicago. I liked the structure and pattern of the window frame, and how it framed the stadium and the city of Chicago.

It was just an iPhone photo, but I liked the geometics of the composition and the Christmas colors on the right, and the city in the background, with one of the iconic buildings lit up, so that most people would know that it is in Chicago.

I’d like to know if this would do well in the Photo Travel competition. I use this group for this, not so much for the technical aspects of the shot, but for the composition and if it fits Photo Travel exhibition requirements.

Personally this isn't a travel photo. I find it unclear if it is an image of the geometric window, or what is in the background. For a good travel photo I always feel it needs to be clear where it is - I would have no idea it was Chicago (most people wouldn't know), and aspirational - ie 'I'd like to visit to see for myself'.   Posted: 01/15/2025 01:52:19

Thank you for your feedback Alistair... one of those photos that work in a different milieu... all of my traveling work friends knew where it was exactly, but that is a smaller travel set, compared to the world of PTD.
The building lit up with the diamond lighting is only in Chicago, but the other colors overpower that. Maybe it will work in an abstract theme!   Posted: 01/23/2025 09:32:01

In my opinion, its main body is window decorations. Based on the environmental conditions outside the window, it can be seen that the left side is a road and the right side is a street facing building.
Due to the strong colored light and shadow of the building on the right side outside the window, it interfered with our perspective and caused a commotion. Although it is a partial description of architecture, if participating in the PSA competition PTD group on a 5-point scale, it is estimated to be 1-2 points.   Posted: 01/23/2025 05:55:29

I agree with above comments. Unfortunately, the buildings are not in focus. Interesting colors and composition, though.   Posted: 01/27/2025 18:33:23
