About the Image(s)

From a 2021 trip to Seattle, I was driving around the city and saw this view from my car, and whipped around to pull over to take the shot. This was near the busy, vibrant downtown of Seattle, and this felt like it was in a vast wasteland and the only thing left standing was their famous landmark, The Space Needle.

Lisa, to me, it is a story telling image, which will be more appropriate for journalism section.
The wire-mesh in the foreground is a bit disturbing to me. I like the idea of converting it into mono, as it is looking less busy now.   Posted: 06/11/2022 11:17:48

Thank you Malabika, I wasn't sure if I liked this photo for PTD or PJD...   Posted: 06/27/2022 14:50:30

Lisa, indeed not the nice face of Seattle. Look like after one of the riots that happened there during the pandemia, BLM, death of George Floyd. The broken wire/mesh contrasting with the iconic landmark in the background gives character to the image. Good B&W interpretation   Posted: 06/11/2022 16:48:35

Indeed Isaac, not the nice face of Seattle, and I love Seattle. This was taken over a year after the riots and covid, so still a few places not completely rebuilt.   Posted: 06/27/2022 14:51:38

Good depiction of a dark side of Seattle and the space needle makes it clear where it is. I agree it is perhaps a better journalism shot for a story of the dark side of the city. Seattle is an interesting city with many stories to tell, you have captured on e of them.   Posted: 06/20/2022 16:14:21

thank you Stan, Seattle is one of the most interesting cities in our country. I always find something new there to see and do and document.   Posted: 06/27/2022 14:52:38

Very interesting composition of a normal subject, the Space Needle, which makes it more interesting.   Posted: 06/22/2022 13:00:51

It is an iconic structure, so I hoped that would help in the PTD department.   Posted: 06/27/2022 14:53:05
