Statue and Shadow by Laurie Friedman, QPSA

June 2022 - Statue and Shadow

About the Image(s)

Just off the coast of Venice is a small island with a cemetery on it, and I found lots of photos ops there. I liked the statue, but especially the shadow cast by the statue. Canon 7D with Tamron 16-300 lens.

Very beautiful image indeed! I like your POV to include the shadow. The image is very sharp and the BG is very apt.

I am not sure how it would perform in PTD section. It is a close up image and it is not showing the land.   Posted: 06/11/2022 10:56:48

The shadow makes it unique. Pictures of someone else's art need something unique added by the composition selected by the photographer. This is perhaps a minimal fulfillment of what I think of as a requirement of pictures of statues in exhibitions. A wonderful image for sharing with friends and family as part of our travels, perhaps not very successful for exhibiting.   Posted: 06/20/2022 15:31:08

Love the statue and the shadow, might use some cropping on the left. Hard to place where it is, so not sure how PTD would like it.   Posted: 06/27/2022 14:48:10
