That is a beautiful area and you did it justice, Shirley. I spent time in Stressa on 2 trips so am familiar with Lake Maggiore and Como. The way the buildings are set in the hillside shows the area well, especially with the mountains in the background. Well done.   Posted: 06/16/2024 11:58:20
I like the composition with the town and mountains in the distance.   Posted: 06/17/2024 18:11:43

I have been to Italy several times but have not gotten a view of buildings on the hillside so I have enjoyed pictures like this posted here. The image is nicely balanced with a diagonal rule of thirds. This is living very close but it must work! Nice job, Shirley.   Posted: 06/17/2024 23:17:29
And everyone has views of the lake which make up for lack of space. Thanks!   Posted: 06/18/2024 12:01:21

Shirley, I love your image from Lake Lugano. The diagonal lines created by the tops of the roofs, the green trees and the mountains behind really add interest to the photograph. Beautifully composed, with nice soft lighting. I've been to Lake Lugano, but only briefly driving back to Milano, so I didn't get to see this beautiful city. Were you on the water when you took this ? Nice Job.   Posted: 06/18/2024 09:09:59
Yes, we stayed a night in Lugano and took a boat ride around the beautiful lake. Thank you for your nice comments. We loved the area.   Posted: 06/18/2024 12:03:04
The mountain backdrop gives this image excellent depth of interest Shirley. I visited Lago Maggiore and never got such an opportunity to visit this location, I now feel I missed out!
Your photograph just oozes Italian lake atmosphere and, as ever, is crisp and sharp with rustic colours - essential with Italian scenes like your presentation.   Posted: 06/21/2024 15:28:19

A beautiful scene, and readily identifiable as a travel image characteristic of the area. The town forms a nice diagonal across the image, as do the mountains.   Posted: 06/21/2024 23:39:46
