July 2024 - African tourism
About the Image(s)
I took this photo in May while on a photo safari in Kenya and Tanzania with JR and Lisa Schnelzer. I thought it representative of those of us who travel in search of the °perfect nature experience°. It was a highly successful and amazing adventure. The photo was taken in Samburu National Reserve, Kenya with my Sony RX10iv, at f6.3, 1/2500s, ISO 1600, 119mm.

I assume you were in another vehicle! It certainly shows tourism. I was there years ago--hate to say how many and this brings back long ago memories. You might crop the bottom a bit so the subjects are not so centered.   Posted: 07/16/2024 11:39:13
Your timing is ideal that has the vehicle dividing the elephants, and judging by recent wildlife programmes on British tv, you have just the single truck instead of a horde which would add too much clutter.
Your image is nice and sharp and perfectly exposed, and I too agree with Judy to crop some vegetation from the base of your frame.   Posted: 07/16/2024 16:09:38

I bet that was a fun safari with the Schnelzers. I like your composition showing two elephants on one side and one on the other with the jeep in the middle, I like your composition with the entre tree showing and to me the bottom balances out the imagae. Nicely done.   Posted: 07/17/2024 17:21:24
Nice image of the elephants in Africa and your safari vehicle.   Posted: 07/19/2024 15:17:22
This certainly does showcase the "nature experience." I like the interaction between the elephants on the left and the jeep, but I wish they weren't showing their rumps.   Posted: 07/22/2024 09:32:20
I don't mind the elephants' rumps! I do agree that some should be cropped from the bottom. Nice composition and a great travel photo! All the other photos this month are very good examples of travel, but it is refreshing to have one image with a setting in the wild!   Posted: 07/24/2024 22:33:30
