Rich, this is an unusual shot of the wall since it seems to come to a halt instead of going on and on. Your angle invites the viewer to come on in to the walking path and then to the doorway. Are there steps going down from there too? Your image seems clear and sharp and it looks as if it is either a hazy day or cloudy day so is hard to bring out any details in area where the wall walkway is.   Posted: 04/12/2025 20:14:35

I am curious about what is on the other side of those steps you show at the top. I see part of a building in the distance on the left, so I assume the path continues. When I was in China in 2005, we spent a lot of time at a part of the wall similar to this. We walked for a mile (?) or so and saw only a few people. Later on we went to the main tourist part of the wall and walked on it a bit. What a difference!
I'm interested in the countryside and what time of the year you were there. I don't see many leaves on the trees. Were you there recently?   Posted: 04/14/2025 22:56:55

This is a very nice view of the wall since it shows steps to another level. As Shirley said, it must have been a hazy day. I added some contrast and straightened it a bit.   Posted: 04/21/2025 15:52:32

Interesting shot of the Great Wall. Not that I've ever been there, but where (which section) was this? I like the leading lines leading to the steps and tower, but I wish we could see the continuation of the wall beyond the tower. I thank Judy's enhancement helps somewhat.   Posted: 04/23/2025 12:25:34

An interesting viewpoint - it certainly conveys how most of us westerners see the straight wall on rolling hills, built in a similar way to Hadrian`s Wall near my home. I too like what Judy suggests.   Posted: 04/24/2025 05:25:23

Nice leading lines for the eye to follow up the wall. Having been to the wall near Bejing, this looks totally different as there, the wall continued and was visibile over the hillsides. Judy's addition of contrast really helps the image. You must have been away from the tourist areas as there were so few people on the wall.
