April 2025 - Angels Flight
About the Image(s)
I took this in Los Angeles with a Nikon D300 and Tamron 18-270mm lens at 27mm. SS was 1/250, aperture f 11 and ISO 250. Does this show enough to be a travel image?

I suppose since there is a unique red/orange colored funicular in the image, it may say something about the location. But to me, none of the buildings in the background suggest a unique location so it could perhaps be in any city. It would not be disqualified in any competition I dare say but I'm not sure it would fare as well as alot of your images would. It reminds me of the fucinular in Pittsburgh but there you could see where the 3 rivers met at the bottom. The angle is nice though which adds dynamism and colorful funicular helps the composition.   Posted: 04/12/2025 20:21:51
For all--
This is a well-known landmark in Los Angeles (City of Angels) and was build in 1901. There may not be identifiable buildings in the background but I felt the Angles was a clue for the location.

Do not remember seeing this in LA. Looks like no passengers were aboard.   Posted: 04/23/2025 09:41:10
Although I lived in LA and worked just off downtown, I've never been here, and I couldn't identify it without reading the links in your description. The image is colorful. The empty carriage seems mysterious.   Posted: 04/23/2025 13:11:32
The bright orange tram car certainly leads the eye into the image, there is much debate regarding PT content already in comments - though I appreciate the "Angels" link, and I did think LA was the city, such a shame the "Hollywood" hillside was not the backdrop!
Your image is tack sharp and well exposed as usual Judy.   Posted: 04/24/2025 05:21:12

A very sharp and colorful image. As everyone said, the backdrop doesn't add much to the photo, or tell where it is located. However, when I saw your photo, I knew immediately where it is located, even though I have never been there, because it was featured in a Harry Bosch tv series.   Posted: 04/24/2025 13:21:32
