This certainly shows old and new! I like the contrast. It tells a story of change too. I would enjoy seeing more of the building in different views. It looks very interesting.   Posted: 05/19/2025 14:09:23

The buildings have some interesting construction and designs to look at.   Posted: 05/19/2025 17:49:30

Very interesting contrast although personally I would prefer to see more of the very interesting well preserved old buildings there without the new contraptions added - progress!   Posted: 05/20/2025 11:00:54

I also like the contrast between ancient and modern, but the buildings in the rear are extremely interesting and I would love to see more of them without the solar panels. Your photo does tell a story, and might qualify as Photojournalism. The image reminds me of one that I have of a Maasai Inkajijik with a solar panel on the top, used to power a small light to allow the children to do homework.   Posted: 05/20/2025 13:54:04

As always, you present something entirely new to me. I am sorry I didn't get to India and I am now traveling in this country for photo trips or family gatherings. I like the contrast between the old buildings and solar panels etc. They tell a story. However, I would also like to see an image just of the 400 year old house. It looks like it has been well kept. I love the blue paint as a modern touch!   Posted: 05/23/2025 21:27:33

Your "seeing eye" at work again Sukumar! I can see Michael`s point with regard to photojournalism, but, as ever, I marvel at the old buildings behind the 21st. century devices, and I do hope - as other group members also mention, that you did go in close to those said buildings.   Posted: 05/24/2025 06:39:58

We did have lunch in one of those buildings. I don't quite get the difference between Photo Travel and Photojournalism - I thought the latter had to involve some newsworthy event, but from the guidelines, it seems not. I've just entered my first photojournalism salon; let's see how my images do there.

And yes, I do have several close-ups of the wooden door and window panels, but they wouldn't qualify as Photo Travel either. See, e.g.: https://psadigital.org/group08/image.php?iid=107479
Do you think it would qualify in PT?   Posted: 05/31/2025 01:55:07

Sukumar - there is not much to identify a global location/PT content though to me the carved dieties ooze India! Judy is much better qualified to comment on PJ content, that said it is an excellent photograph in it`s own right.   Posted: 05/31/2025 04:31:16
