Sometimes you have to use the equipment close at hand or you lose the shot. We were in Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Mt. Kilimanjaro had been blanketed in clouds until just before sunset. While trying to photograph the mountain in the low light conditions with my Sony RX10, the elephant appeared. I was unable to adjust my camera for the conditions quickly enough to keep from losing the shot. My iPhone 13 Pro Max was close at hand and I took the shot, letting the phone do the settings, (ISO 250, 77mm, F2.8, 1/62s) and I was able to get the image. It had turned out to be an award winner in PTD competitions.

I can believe this was an award winner, Michael. It is a great shot and the depth of field is incredible. It seems one can see the layers of clouds in the background but you managed to get a great one of Mt Kilamanjaro as well as the elephant who appears to be posing for you.
