July 2025 - Baltimore Washington Monument
About the Image(s)
This is a well-known area to anyone familiar with Baltimore, but I wonder if it would be accepted in photo travel. It is the first monument built to honor George Washington and the cornerstone was laid July 4, 1815, not long after the War of 1812. It is the center of Mt. Vernon Place which also has the Walters Art Gallery, the Peabody Institute and a Methodist Church. There are 227 steps to the top and yes, Idid climb them long ago when I lived nearby.

Good for you for walking them when you could. It is a lovely monument and interesting history. I suggest perhaps cropping off at the bottom up to the bottom of the steps. I am wondering whether since the church tower is so close if you had a photo with more of the church in, if that might add more interest but it is a lovely composition and everything seems sharp.   Posted: 07/06/2025 19:09:23
