December 2025 - Old Castle on Tsemo Hill, Leh
About the Image(s)
The Old Castle is located on top of a hill overlooking the city of Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Constructed of rammed earth wall and sun-baked bricks, during the reign of King Tashi Namgyal in the 16th century CE, the red and white Old Castle was the earliest royal residence of the Namgyal dynasty. I like this perspective-uncorrected wide-angle view because it gives an idea of the steep climb leading up to the castle. Shot with my Vivo V23e 5G phone @ 2 mm. f/2.2 @ 1/1431 sec. ISO: 105.

Your perspective-uncorrected view works very well to take the viewer`s eye up the frame. The saffron coloured window canopies certainly add interest and your inclusion of the staircase serves as a link to the 2 buildings that dominate the frame - another fine submission Sukumar.   Posted: 12/07/2025 16:00:22
Great perspective which shows the very steep stairs going up the building. Showing the colorful part of the building makes the cloudy sky not a problem. Nice and sharp with good composition. A good travel image, Sukumar.   Posted: 12/19/2025 11:28:56
Nice image taken with a phone. The steps are very steep.   Posted: 12/21/2025 12:01:17
I love the textures and your viewpoint. The steps make me want to climb into the photo and up! The yellow window dressings add a bright color that is a good contrast to the reddish of the building. Well composed and another interesting image from you!   Posted: 12/21/2025 21:20:56
Color and texture make the photo. I could never make it up those steps. Your viewpoint works well and may be better than if it were straight.   Posted: 12/24/2025 14:18:23
I really like everything about this image, the color contrasts and the sense of height provided by your uncorrected perspective. Certainly a PT image. Well done Sukumar!   Posted: 12/27/2025 12:14:58
