About the Image(s)

Taken at night a few nights ago walking down a sidestreet and I thought it looked like such a juxtaposition to see the medieval building in the back with the motorcycles and cars in front.

May have too much in the way of other things. Good night lighting.   Posted: 12/21/2025 11:53:53

As Rich mentions, the composition is very "busy" - but the eye certainly falls on the (well lit) old tower. Perhaps a composition in a narrower vertical format can avoid the blue street sign and some of the flare from the street lamp?   Posted: 12/21/2025 13:50:55

I agree with the others. It is better without the sign. I like the idea of old building and motorcycles. I assume the light is from a spotlight or similar item. It does make a nice memory.   Posted: 12/24/2025 14:05:38

Good idea, but the cut off blue sign at the left edge and the glare from the right are too distracting. And motorcycles? Those look like regular bicycles to me.   Posted: 12/25/2025 12:21:58

Like the others, the cutoff sign and glare from the right detracts from the feeling of a medieval fortress , but if you had cut off the total sign then the bicycles would have been cut off. If you had move to the right and shot vertical like David suggests, you might have been able to eliminate the flare , cut the sign and still get the effect you were looking for , by keeping some of bicycles but not the cars.   Posted: 12/27/2025 11:55:46

I like your juxtaposition of the old and the new. I agree about getting rid of the partial sign. I think the photo still works if you crop the left side and a bit of the the front bicycles. Another crop on the right side as David suggests. Basically, I like David's example above but the image does seem a bit "cut off," which it is!   Posted: 12/28/2025 22:51:57
