A beautiful building and setting. The dead tree on the right adds some depth. It may be my aging eyes, but the abbey doesn't appear to be as sharp as it could be. I know that you used your phone, but did you run it through any sharpening software? I can see that the abbey has some interesting detail and it isn't standing out to me.

Michael, I did not edit the image and sharpen it before I sent t in but I did sharpen it in Topaz after your comment. Here is the sharpened image.   Posted: 07/20/2026 12:11:03

This seems a bit bright to me--but it could be my old eyes! I like the grass in the foreground as it adds interest. I like that you eliminated the sky. My image of the Abbey has a bald sky.   Posted: 07/20/2026 10:36:44
Judy, just checked the histogram and it does not come that near the too white side. Maybe its because the background is alot of contrast? Thanks!   Posted: 07/20/2026 11:52:55
What a great place for the monks to meditate! With a view of the lake, the reflections therein and the forested hillside beyond. No, the Topaz sharpening doesn't seem to improve the image in my view. It could be worth returning to this scene with a large or medium-format camera, but we have to make do with what we have at the moment.   Posted: 07/22/2026 02:48:16
