May 2022 - Door in Aix En Provence
About the Image(s)
I was on a tour of Aix En Provence a few weeks ago and saw this interesting door. Taken with my Fujicom XT-20 with a Nikon 12-24mm lens. The image was cropped and adjusted in LR. I know this does not scream Aix En Provence but the only way to do that is have an image with a sign saying where I am.

A fine study of architecture, shown in sharp focus though a little dull on my screen - did you adjust levels and/or curves Rich? As you already state - there is not much evidence of France or the city but I agree there was not much you could do to help. Posted: 05/22/2022 10:03:59

Your adjustments do help Rich, I often try possible adjustments prior to submission - sometimes they work and if they do not I click cancel instead of save. Posted: 05/23/2022 06:53:03
I love photographing doors and windows and can see why you were attracted to it. I think it could work in a travel essay, but I don't think it stands on its own for PT. I straightened it using Perspective Efex Pro and then in Elements. The angle bothered me more than the light. Posted: 05/23/2022 10:58:27
Nice doorway. When there is lettering in an image, I try to read it, and here it wasn't very sharp. The wedge of gray at the left doesn't do anything for me; so I tried straightening it, but with a less severe crop than Judy. Also went with Auto Contrast, sharpened and dialed up some saturation. Doors are always a favorite and this is an interesting one. I prefer your brighter version in the discussion above. I especially like Sukumar's editing. I wonder if this is truly travel. (Says the one who rarely posts a true Travel Photo!)
