Five Olympic Rings by John Larson, FPSA, MPSA2

February 2024 - Five Olympic Rings

About the Image(s)

Why I took this image:
My wife, Carolyn, and I recently visited Atlanta, GA to watch Penn State to get their “butts” kicked against Mississippi State. The weather was not much different than Pennsylvania, but we still had a good time. At the end of the trip, I managed to come down with a case of pneumonia so all in all not a very good trip. Atlanta was the site of the 1996 Olympics and there is also a very nice aquarium besides the Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Camera Settings:
Creation Date (xmp): 2023-12-31T15:53:30, Original Date/Time: 2023-12-31T15:53:30, Color Space: sRGB, X Resolution: 300, Y Resolution: 300, Image from Google Pixel 6a Cell Phone.

Post processing:,
Normal LR color adjustments and leveled to remove distractions. Increased contrastand then Sharpened using Topaz AI

Nice photo but the angle at which the photo was taken is not conventional.   Posted: 02/09/2024 19:39:30

The colors make it.   Posted: 02/11/2024 17:02:46

Not only do the colors stand out, but everyone knows what the 5 intertwined circles convey. I especially like that you can see the words: "Georgia's Own" at the top of the building, letting you know where you are.   Posted: 02/13/2024 18:21:16

Nicely composed, and the colorful rings are great.   Posted: 02/17/2024 17:38:15

If I could edit out the white truck I would. But this is photo travel, you can't do that. All you could have done is wait for the truck to pass, but you didn't. Your Olympic Rings shot is better than any I took. I had problems with mergers.   Posted: 02/18/2024 13:44:21

The Olympic symbol is vibrant and visually appealing. Consider cropping a small portion from the bottom right and allowing more space on the left, which might help the image.   Posted: 02/23/2024 18:37:37
