Note:
The Snaefellsbaer blowhole in Iceland is a natural geological feature on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known for its stunning landscapes and diverse geological formations. A blowhole is a cavity in coastal cliffs or rocks formed by erosion, where seawater is forced through a small opening due to wave action, creating a powerful spout or spray. The blowhole at Snaefellsbaer is likely a result of the relentless pounding of waves against the coastline, gradually eroding the rock and creating a hole through which seawater can surge dramatically.

Blowholes are often popular tourist attractions due to their dramatic displays and natural beauty. Visitors to the Snaefellsbaer blowhole can witness the powerful force of the ocean as it shoots water into the air, creating a mesmerizing spectacle against the backdrop of Iceland's rugged coastline. However, it's essential to exercise caution when visiting blowholes, as they can be dangerous due to the unpredictable nature of waves and tides.

This is a stunning image! The perspective is great, with the foreground clear and forming a circle around the blowhole, where the water is wonderful. The mountain at the top mimics the circle around the blowhole, but in reverse. I just love everything about this image.   Posted: 04/08/2024 00:35:15

The composition is stellar. I like the contrast between the blue-gray of the blowhole and sky with the browns and golds of the landscape surrounding the blowhole. Nice work!   Posted: 04/08/2024 09:52:40

At first I thought this was a creative image! I couldn't imagine anyone could find and photograph a blowhole. The image is stunning. I think what I like the best is that the ground around the hole is so well-focused and the spray within the hole is so misty. The symmetry of the lanscape is very nice.   Posted: 04/13/2024 20:53:54

This is well crafted landscape. Nice work slow shutter and adroit choice of exposure helped to bring the color tones. Like the effect on the water. 32 sec is a long exposure ,what was the stop on the ND. Looking at the beautiful sky at what time did you take this shot. Nice work.   Posted: 04/14/2024 07:40:57

David, I have been in Iceland twice, but never saw this magnificent landscape. Great composition and color management   Posted: 04/23/2024 10:09:13

Super. Wonderful colors - the blue of the water contrasting with the yellow of the landscape. I would have stood a little to the right to not line up the blowhole with the mountain in the background, but this is still a good composition. Long exposure makes the water jets look soft.   Posted: 04/24/2024 15:22:17
