Why I took this image:

When Carolyn and I were at the 2024 Photo Festival we took the tour of the Air Force Museum. This building was built to fit the plane. I know that several people will argue that planes, trains and automobiles do NOT fit the Photo Travel definition. I am not prepared to argue that point but to me they belong in the category. I love visiting air force museums and especially those that have old planes like this B-17. If any of you ever get the chance you need to visit the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio..

I did little to this image except for the normal color adjustments in LR. I then used Topaz Photo AI for sharpening and noise reduction.

Nice photo of the plane. I like how you were able to get the whole plane from a higher viewpoint, plus you got the whole plane. Well done!   Posted: 03/09/2025 12:54:25

Nice Photo. Everything Sharp .ISO is high, I guess you had to run through denoise. For this kind of large indoor objects, given the ambient lightning, the challenge is what aperture to choose to get everything in focus. We don't have in camera software to indicate hyperfocal distance (except those apps..who is going to take out your phone when shooting during travel.), we inevitably land up with higher apertures (would love to do f2.8 or lower for a better ISO) landing with higher ISO. Then the other challenge is which angle gives the best shot. You did find a very good place.
Excellent Photo.

Image is a bit underexposed. Adjusting that improves the contrast and the highlights.   Posted: 03/18/2025 15:39:35

What struck me most about that trip was the conversation with the WWII veteran who was over 100 years old! You got that photo. I didn't. Jealous. I do like Tom's edit.   Posted: 03/23/2025 17:26:32

These are hard pictures to get because you are stuck with the venue, with everything around it. You did a nice job, capturing all of it and I do like the perspective from above.   Posted: 03/23/2025 18:05:56
