Hoover Dam Bridge by John Larson, FPSA, GMPSA

August 2025 - Hoover Dam Bridge

About the Image(s)

Why I took this image:

When Carolyn and I made our trip to the canyons of Utah and to Las Vegas we also made a day trip to the Hoover Dam which is one of my “bucket” list places. Ever since I saw this bridge over Black Rock Canyon being built it has fascinated me. It is such a fascinating piece of architecture and it saves travelers much time spent waiting in line for the Hoover Dam traffic..

Camera Settings: Creation Date: 03/12/2025 Camera: Canon EOS R5 Mk II, Shutter Speed: 1/6400, Aperture f/4, ISO 500, Lens Canon RF 24 “ 105 f4.0 @ 33 mm

Really nice view of the Hoover Dam. There is good color in the color and sky. I especially like the clouds in the sky. I'm wondering if the scene could use a little more contrast. I know the rock of Arizona is just about that color but I think more contrast could give it more eye interest.   Posted: 08/10/2025 23:55:06

I agree with Phyllis. I think these are the colors one gets in mid-day. A little contrast boost with Viveza or similar would look nice.   Posted: 08/13/2025 20:14:05
