About the Image(s)

Why I took this image:

When Carolyn and I made our trip to the canyons of Utah and Las Vegas, after we visited the Moab area we then traveled to Bryce Canyon. We wanted to make sure and get there in the morning as we had heard they had received some snowfall. We did not get there as early as we wanted but we still caught some of the snow on the peaks. I liked this somewhat panoramic shot. I entered it in a local camera club competition and it did not do well.

Camera Settings: Creation Date: 03/16/2025 Camera: Canon EOS R6, Shutter Speed: 1/500, Aperture f/16, ISO 500, Lens Canon RF24-105mm F4 L IS USM Lens @ 24 mm

Post processing:, Normal LR adjustments and straightening. Small amount of dehaze. Sharpening and denoise using Topaz Photo AI.

Iconic shot of Bryce. You were rewarded for getting up early. Anyone who has seen this knows that after 9 am the light gets flat.   Posted: 04/20/2026 18:28:50
