About the Image(s)

Why I took this image:

As I mentioned in my June write-up we recently got back from a trip to Alaska. After visiting the Mendenhall Glacier out of Juneau we cruised overnight and ended up in Skagway. We got off the cruise ship and took a six-hour train ride up into the Yukon Mountain Range. I like to see travel photos that sometimes show methods of travel as well as the places.

Beautiful image! I love the train going around the corner, taking our eye to the mountain behind. The color in the foreground with the white mountain behind is great.   Posted: 07/18/2026 16:04:38

Nice capture of the train just as it is about to round the curve of the mountain but you also included the majestic snow-covered mountains in the background.
