November 2024 - 12 Wives of the Chief

Our Safari vehicle had engine trouble near a Massai village. While our driver was under the car, I walked over to meet the people. The chief's son spoke English. It turned out the whole village was one family. This is a photo of the 12 wives of the Chief at Maasai Village I visited. They came out to meet me and we danced.
I took this with my Sony a6000 mirrorless camera on February 5, 2024. The photo was cropped in Lightroom.

I like the virbrant colors on the clothing. I like the semi circular positoning of the women. It is a very pleasing and natural composition. The white balance and all the colors look natural to me.
To enhance the beautiful tones of the dark skin I increased the highlights a bit. A pinch of soft light from a flash would bring out the tones too.
I wanted to get more of the semi circular feel and in LR Transform, I adjusted the horizontal slider.
I wanted to see more of those faces and cropped in slightly.

Hi Donna, what a special moment! Such an interesting and colorful image. I like Richard's enhancements to it. Seems to my eyes that it is a bit blurry - I assume one can use LR Denoise/Topaz to sharpen images in the Travel division. Posted: 11/13/2024 16:47:45
