About the Image(s)

This image was made at Kumbh Mela in 2019. As some of you might know the Kumbh is a huge religious gathering of people who come to take a dip at the confluence of two rivers believing it will grant them freedom from the cycle of birth and death. I needed a respite from the crowds and hence walked away and was presented with this scene.

I cropped the edges to take out humans. I reduced highlights to give definition to the clouds. Burnt the sand and the boat in the foreground . Dodged the area at the extreme left where the fort walls are. Increased overall exposure a tad bit. Dehazed it a bit and added a small amount of clarity .

ISO 250, 1/500 s at F 13, shot at 24mm ..should have shot this probably between 50-60mm to avoid the crop.

A pleasing location - that curve on the waterline in lower left really helps. You must have good reasons why you allowed the boat to bleed out of two edges of the frame?   Posted: 05/26/2021 05:52:46
