About the Image(s)

I shot this image on a recent visit to Banff National Park. This image
was shot from Sulphur Mountain where a Gondola takes you. Just before
the sunset, it was cloudy and frigid cold. I used a tripod for this
shot. This is an HDR of 7 images. I converted it to Black and White to
enhance the contrast, but I think I have overdone it. What are your
thoughts? Shot with a Tamron 24-70mm Lens on a Nikon D850. ISO64,
24mm, 1/4 to 1 sec.

What a beautiful image!
Rather than over doing it, I choose to do more by exposing +1 in LR. No other changes were made.
The perspectives are beautiful. I do not mind any crushed blacks no over exposed whites as long as the photo has balance.
You did such a terric job on preparation for lens, aperature, shutter speed and location. The tripod was a plus to capture even more detail. I freed the exposure by one stop. Just an opinion not any sort of final verdict.
A very pleasing image!

Thank you again for your thoughtful comments! I agree the increasing exposure did help to maintain the balance and prevent any harsh clipping in the shadows or highlights.   Posted: 01/03/2025 20:00:03
