This is an environmental portrait which I planned to take here. Linda is positioned between the two rock formations. The final image is a very slight pano to include a little more and enhanced depth of the image. The image was taken with the OM1 Mark2 with 12-100 f4 lens. Settings were 1/200 sec, f6.3, iso 80 and -0.7 EV at 12 mm. The image was process in LR. Masks were created to brighten the eyes and to darken the hands, foreground rock and sky. Some shadows were lifted off her face and some texture removed - all to lessen wrinkles from squinting. I had hoped for a little less sun but I had to take the photo in the limited time we were there.

Machu Picchu has always been a dream destination of mine-this breathtaking shot only deepens my longing to visit! Your composition is flawless, and the exposure is perfectly balanced. I also admire your post-processing; it's so natural and refined - nothing feels overdone.   Posted: 04/08/2025 16:28:47

Richard, what a wonderful milestone and family memory! The image is crisp and clear and I hope you have it printed and hanging on a wall in your home! (In which case I might be tempted to clone out some of the strangers in the BG.) Of course it is a set up image - or will be assumed to be - so it's not going to work for PT competition. If you have a similar image without Linda, that's the one I would use for competition.

The image will be printed on fine art paper with white matting. Sometime perhpas you can provide more inot on competitions. I have not done much of that. Thank you!!!

Hi Richard, beautiful image. And you managed to have all in sharp focus - the portrait and the background. I like how the blue complements the greens and browns of the scenery.
I agree with Lillian on the changes you can make for printing and possible competition.
And congratulations on the 49 years together!   Posted: 04/17/2025 16:14:03
