Shah Rukn-e-Alam Mausoleum in Multan (My hometown), Pakistan, is a stunning example of pre-Mughal architecture and one of the most iconic landmarks in the region. Built in the early 14th century, it honors the revered Sufi saint Shah Rukn-e-Alam. This shot was taken at sunset from a high point close to the mausoleum.

This is an absolutely stunning building in very beautiful light. You found a nice hihg perch for a better view. I encourage you to always check your vertical lines in architectural images and to remove as many distractions as possible. The central position of the mausoleum gives the image a static feel. I moved the image to the right and use the other building as an intro to the main subject. Then the foliage becomes more or less a stopping point for closure. I really like the places you go and the images that you take.   Posted: 10/08/2025 06:18:27

Ditto to Richard. A spectacular bit of architecture. And your lighting is terrific. I do like putting the building off center better. The bits on the right aren't all that interesting. I wouldn't crop quite as tight as Richard did however. I'd leave the couple in the shot. Their clothes add to the scene.   Posted: 10/12/2025 10:58:44
Thank you to both of you for your kind words and suggestions. I agree with you guys about putting the building off center, it does look better - will do the crop.   Posted: 10/12/2025 11:19:10
