October 2025 - Eiffel Tower

About the Image(s)

I finally visited Paris early this year, and my friend and I spent some time just wandering the streets. I photographed the Eiffel Tower from various angles and with various foregrounds. Several have done OK in competition. I had high hopes for this one, liking how the sky complements the flowers and the flowers frame the tower. But it has not been well received in PTD.

I wish I could have gotten over the plexiglass wall but it was too high and the area inside was closed until later in the day.

Well you still have a great memory of taking this photo. The framing by the flowers is terrific. But as you know the distractions usualy do not sit well with the judges. It is hard to find a straight vertical. That does not mean it is a bad photo rather not one for competition. I like the colors and especially the lighting on the tower itself. It's a keeper!   Posted: 10/08/2025 15:03:40

Oh no!! The Eiffel Tower is falling over. It's tough to shoot up and get things not to lean. The flower framing is lovely, colors nice, the plexiglass fence at the bottom is distracting, but you already knew that.   Posted: 10/12/2025 11:02:50

The floral framing is beautifully done. It adds a lovely touch of softness and depth. If feasible, I would consider cropping out the glass fence at the bottom to keep the focus clean. I think the Eiffel Tower images are among the most frequently submitted in competitions, they really need to be exceptional to stand out and resonate with the judges.   Posted: 10/12/2025 14:05:46
