January 2026 - Yellowstone Norris Basin
About the Image(s)
This image was captured with the OM1 Mark2 in hand held high resolution mode. The lens was the 12-100 f4 IS @ 20mm (40 full frame equivalent). The camera settings were 1/60 sec, f13, iso 200 and + 0.7 EV. My intent was to capture the mysterious tone in black & white. The fog and natural elements create multiple layers within the image.

I'm no longer in the group but I'm still checking up on you😉. I love the choice of black and white for this one.   Posted: 01/06/2026 21:26:21
Oooh, it looks cold, and yet we know with all the steam that it probably isn't. I like the leading line of the boardwalk snaking through the soft greys of the photo. B&W an interesting choice for a Yellowstone geyser basin. Haven't seen that before.   Posted: 01/07/2026 10:47:03
Richard I really like the composition and also the cloudy sky enhances the image. I agree that the B&W is unusual for Yellowstone but I find it interesting and evocative. Only suggestion would be to increase the contrast a bit.   Posted: 01/31/2026 15:12:21
