Great job hand held with the D850 dslr. This image brings back fond memories for me as we lived in a highrise toward the right edge of the frame - Branksome Crest. I like the flow with in the scene from left ot right and the colors from dark to light. I am more drawn into the photo with less sky at the top as this focuses my eyes on the city. Just depends what you intended.   Posted: 05/18/2026 11:18:49
Thanks Richard, it's an amazing city, I had a very short stay, would love to go back.
I have a tendency of following the rule of thirds for no particular reason, especially for the sky, I try to keep the horizon at the upper third. But I agree with you on this one, perhaps it would look better with less sky.   Posted: 05/18/2026 11:44:14

What an amazing city. I'm not much of a city person, so wouldn't be particularly interested in going there. Now I don't have to, you have captured it beautifully. I agree the sky could be cropped down. I think the rule of thirds doesn't necessarily apply to sky...more to positioning physical elements in the frame it seems to me. (Not that I'm any expert on the rule)   Posted: 05/18/2026 19:56:01
