About the Image(s)
The afternoon had been cloudy and foggy. We had been down to the beach for about an hour, and took some disappointing photos, with fully overcast skies and little distinction to the rock formations. After walking back to the car (0.5 mile?), and getting ready to leave, we decided to take a bio-break before leaving. By the time we walked back out of the restrooms, suddenly there was a break in the clouds and the fog was quickly lifting. I had already put away my camera, but I had my cell phone. I went back down the beach as fast as I could and caught this scene, with the dog chasing a frisbee and the person walking in front of the rock, and just enough fog left on the water to add a little interest. While the lighting conditions were still not ideal, I like the result.
Taken with a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, with automatically selected settings of f/1.7, 1/978 sec, ISO 23, 0 exposure bias, and 7 mm focal length, with center weighted auto exposure. Small edits were done in Lightroom to sharpen up the detail in the rock and adjust the contrast of the dog and man against the beach.
