About the Image(s)

This photograph was captured during my visit to Serampore in West Bengal, a historic town in the Hooghly district situated along the banks of the Hooghly River and part of the Kolkata Metropolitan region. Once a Danish colony known as Frederiksnagore until 1845, Serampore carries a unique blend of cultural influences that is beautifully reflected in its vibrant architecture.

What drew me to this scene was the striking reflection of the colourful buildings shimmering in the water—it instantly held my gaze. The symmetry, the stillness, and the interplay of colours came together perfectly, making it a moment I couldn’t resist capturing.

I love this photo, with its image and water reflections. It has good color, interest and clarity. With the bright sunlight and white buildings, it may appear a bit overexposed - might playing with darkening it a little subdue the brightness of it? In any case, a great photo!   Posted: 04/17/2026 14:38:19
