September 2026 - An Unexpected Smile

During an official trip to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, we passed through a small village on our way back to the hotel. Curious to explore, I asked my driver to stop and, fortunately, had my camera with me.
As I walked through the village, I noticed this woman standing at the entrance of her home. Her spontaneous, beautiful smile immediately caught my attention, and I instinctively captured the moment.

Photos from India are always interesting. You have such wonderful unique cultural styles that really make the travel section interesting. This photo is also colorful and she is dressed so attractively - and as you point out, she has a beautiful smile. Actually, the focus is good on every part of her except maybe her face, so perhaps she moved last minute. The photo is cropped perfectly.
The background is dark, but it is not the focus of the picture, so I don't see a problem there. The lighting of the focus of the photo is perfect. I would love to hear others' opinion of the lighting issue, since my father and I argue about this point regularly. Posted: 09/13/2026 11:30:28
