Green Iguana profile by Graham Harris

February 2026 - Green Iguana profile

About the Image(s)

Captured this Green Iguana in a garden in Costa Rica in late November 2025. Photographed in bright sunny conditions using Shot with my A7RV and 200-600mm lens at 531 mm hand-held. An ISO of 2500 at 1/2000s and F9 – -0.3 EV used. Image cropped slightly to fill the frame. Processed with Lightroom Classic (highlights reduced and shadows opened up a little - masked subject and opened up exposure further on it). Denoised and sharpened in Topaz AI.

Cool image. looks like you took it at a low angle, almost at the ground level. It is focused well. Being backlit, the iguana's face appears darker than the forelimb. I would not increase the exposure on the face. it will look artificial. But perhaps you can burn and decrease the highlights on the leg so that it becomes less prominent.   Posted: 02/17/2026 07:34:52

What a handsome fellow. Is it permissible to do a linear gradient in from the right, subtracting his head to bring down the highlights?   Posted: 02/17/2026 17:01:29

Wow. Great Image. I like Deborah's suggestion that will really make the iguana pop.   Posted: 02/19/2026 20:14:11
